THE DECEMBER 1 LAUNCH ROSTER
The launch cast
is locked.
5 islands. 40 approved species. Eight residents in every home.
Frozair approved these 40 residents and their island homes on October 18. Production, motion and final phone acceptance are tracked separately.
8 species per island × 5 = 40 for launch
Locked Oct 18DIRECTOR’S DECISION / ROSTER LOCKED
The cast is locked. Let’s build their homes.
Frozair approved these 40 residents and their island homes on October 18. Production, motion and final phone acceptance are tracked separately.
Added for Snow 4
- Nanuqsaurus
- Edmontosaurus
- Leaellynasaura
- Woolly Rhinoceros
Greener homes 1
- Iguanodon → Fernlands
Saved for later 4
- Borealopelta
- Cryolophosaurus

Snow’s habitat direction. Snow needs seasonally snowy woodland, stream edges and open ground with exposed forage. Permanent barren ice is not supported for this cast.
EVERY RESIDENT / HABITAT CHECK
A habitat-led revision.
Reviewed Oct 18, 2026
All 40 recommended residents have an individual sourced assessment. The new Snow candidates replace weaker placements, and Iguanodon moves to greener Fernlands. Ratings describe fit to the stated habitat; they are not proven survival limits or production readiness. These animals span different eras and regions, rather than one historical ecosystem.
- 25Good broad fit
- 14Conditional or uncertain
- 0Reconsider island
- 1Fictional
Ratings are game design judgments from incomplete fossil evidence, not proof of exact habitat or survival. The cast spans different places and eras; these animals did not all coexist.
What each island means for this check
- Forest
- Seasonal woodland with open clearings, firm ground and freshwater margins.
- Giants
- A size collection in a varied valley with wooded and open ground plus substantial rivers. Size and ecology are assessed separately.
- Swamp
- Warm freshwater wetlands with connected vegetated banks and actual water access. A wetland resident is not automatically a swimmer.
- Snow
- Seasonally snowy woodland and stream edges beside open forage ground. Include shelter, accessible plants and patchy or shallow snow; this cast does not support barren permanent ice.
- Fernlands
- Fern-rich meadows and clearings with tall tree groves, wooded margins and freshwater. A completely treeless field changes several ratings.
Casting changes and notes

ISLAND 01 / THE LOCKED CAST
Forest8 / 8your picks / target
Friendly starters, runners and crest collectors.
Habitat: Woodland, broad clearings and streams. Aquilops, Stegouros and Shunosaurus have limited habitat-specific evidence.
Leafy
Round starter
Art status: Bank on mainFictional
Keep as the fictional Forest mascot and label its identity honestly.
Habitat evidence
Leafy is an original fictional resident, so fossil locality and habitat evidence do not apply.
Limit: Its Forest placement is a worldbuilding decision, not a paleontological conclusion.
Evidence confidence: not applicable. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Bank on main
The familiar small starter anchors the collection.
Selected concept portrait; animation bank exists on main, not proof of final launch qualification.
Aquilops
Tiny beaked herbivore
Art status: Bank on mainConditional or uncertain
Retain provisionally near open woodland and streams; avoid claiming a confirmed forest specialist.
Habitat evidence
Aquilops americanus comes from Montana's Himes Member, Cloverly Formation; regional fluvial floodplains support a plausible woodland-edge setting, without demonstrating forest preference.
Limit: The known skull's sandy claystone and broader formation reconstruction do not establish its preferred vegetation or microhabitat.
Evidence confidence: low. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Bank on main
Small beak and shield give a second friendly starter silhouette.
Selected concept portrait; animation bank exists on main, not proof of final launch qualification.
Pachycephalosaurus
Dome-headed biped
Art status: Bank on mainGood broad fit
Keep in Forest with clearings, dry paths and river margins.
Habitat evidence
Pachycephalosaurus fossils occur in the Hell Creek Formation, whose warm, moist landscape included forested floodplains, lakes and rivers.
Limit: Regional habitat evidence does not demonstrate dense-forest specialization or establish its complete habitat range.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Bank on main
A rounded dome makes the head instantly different.
Selected concept portrait; animation bank exists on main, not proof of final launch qualification.
Gallimimus
Tall light runner
Art status: Bank on mainGood broad fit
Keep in Forest, emphasizing broad clearings and river corridors.
Habitat evidence
Gallimimus bullatus comes from Mongolia's Nemegt Formation, where isotope evidence supports a seasonal, monsoon-influenced conifer woodland ecosystem.
Limit: The woodland reconstruction is ecosystem-level; it does not show Gallimimus preferred closed canopy over open areas.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Bank on main
Long legs and small head add height and lightness.
Main movement/dig bank exists; happy/sleep and wider tester acceptance remain open.
Stegouros
Low tail-blade toy
Art status: Bank on mainConditional or uncertain
Keep provisionally beside Forest streams and wet clearings; do not describe it as a proven woodland specialist.
Habitat evidence
Stegouros elengassen comes from Chile's Dorotea Formation; its locality lies in a river-and-floodplain succession, making a wet woodland margin plausible.
Limit: Depositional setting does not establish forest preference; modern subantarctic geography does not establish an ancient snow habitat.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Bank on main
A squat armored body contrasts with the upright runners.
Selected concept portrait; animation bank exists on main, not proof of final launch qualification.
Kentrosaurus
Spiky collector
Art status: Bank on mainGood broad fit
Keep in Forest with drier clearings, conifers and seasonal vegetation.
Habitat evidence
Kentrosaurus aethiopicus comes from Tanzania's Tendaguru Formation, whose vegetated hinterland supported conifers and understory under warm, strongly seasonal conditions.
Limit: Coastal fossil burial does not make it aquatic; seasonal woodland is a better reconstruction than permanently lush tropical jungle.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Bank on main
Shoulder and tail spikes supply a clear late-collection silhouette.
Committed and routed ranch/reveal banks. Shop seeding and final launch qualification remain.
Parasaurolophus
Crested headline
Art status: Bank on mainGood broad fit
Keep in Forest; identify the intended species as Parasaurolophus walkeri in reference notes.
Habitat evidence
Parasaurolophus walkeri occurs in Alberta's Dinosaur Park Formation, where plant evidence supports warm-temperate conifer forests and terrestrial browsing.
Limit: This assessment anchors the genus-level roster name to P. walkeri; other species occur in different formations.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Bank on main
The long backward crest is a recognisable collection prize.
Committed ranch and reveal banks; Frozair approved the recorded motion, including the retained directional run aliases. Final launch qualification remains.
Shunosaurus
Compact long-neck
Art status: Bank on mainConditional or uncertain
Keep provisionally in open woodland near water; avoid claiming a verified dense-forest habitat.
Habitat evidence
Shunosaurus lii occurs in China's Lower Shaximiao Formation; regional river-and-lake basin deposits make woodland margins plausible, but local forest cover remains insufficiently established here.
Limit: Formation-wide environments varied; broad basin evidence cannot establish the precise vegetation or preferred habitat at every Shunosaurus locality.
Evidence confidence: low. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Bank on main
A low long neck and tail club finish Forest with a different body plan.
Selected concept portrait; animation bank exists on main, not proof of final launch qualification.
ISLAND 02 / THE LOCKED CAST
Giants8 / 8your picks / target
The giant-scale sanctuary and its headline residents.
Habitat: A size theme in a varied river valley. Spinosaurus and Deinocheirus need substantial water; Amargasaurus is comparatively small.
Shantungosaurus
Broad giant herbivore
Art status: Existing bankGood broad fit
Keep; give it lush vegetation, freshwater and generous open ground.
Habitat evidence
A roughly 15-metre terrestrial herbivore; research reconstructs vegetated hills and valleys with plentiful rainfall. Both scale and broad valley habitat suit Giants.
Limit: The habitat reconstruction is interpretive; its fossils do not establish an exact modern biome or temperature tolerance.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
Wide muzzle and chunky body make the big herbivore readable.
Existing runtime species; this selected concept look is not proof of matching production animation.
Dreadnoughtus
Towering long-neck
Art status: Existing bankGood broad fit
Keep; provide broad land corridors, abundant browsing vegetation and a river valley.
Habitat evidence
A giant titanosaur from the Cerro Fortaleza Formation; its river-floodplain deposits and regional fossil wood support a forested floodplain setting.
Limit: Body-mass estimates differ. Burial in a flood deposit does not make it an aquatic dinosaur.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
The towering vertical giant provides the island’s scale fantasy.
Existing runtime species; this selected concept look is not proof of matching production animation.
Giganotosaurus
Giant predator
Art status: Existing bankGood broad fit
Keep; retain open terrain, drier patches and river access rather than continuous dense woodland.
Habitat evidence
A very large Candeleros Formation predator; that formation records rivers, alluvial plains and drier open environments, compatible with an open valley mosaic.
Limit: Regional formation evidence does not prove its precise preferred habitat; uniformly dense, wet forest would be an overstatement.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
The large land predator is a clear headline prize.
Tentatively liked working concept remake. Existing Giga bank is a separate approval; no new appearance approval implied.
Therizinosaurus
Long-armed giant
Art status: Existing bankGood broad fit
Keep; include wooded floodplain edges and abundant browsing vegetation.
Habitat evidence
A large Nemegt herbivore associated with a wetter, fertile floodplain ecosystem. Its size and vegetation-rich surroundings support the Giants placement.
Limit: Its incomplete skeleton limits detailed reconstruction; today's Gobi Desert is not evidence that its ancient habitat was desert.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
Long arms and sculpted claws add an unusual upright shape.
Existing runtime species; this selected concept look is not proof of matching production animation.
Spinosaurus
Sail-backed predator
Art status: Existing bankConditional or uncertain
Keep only with a substantial fish-bearing river, shallow margins and accessible banks.
Habitat evidence
An enormous fish-associated predator with strong ties to waterways and wet margins. Size fits Giants; a token drinking pond would underserve its ecological identity.
Limit: Active underwater pursuit versus shoreline wading remains debated. Do not present it as a proven deep-diving swimmer.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
The sail and long snout separate it from Giga.
Existing runtime species; this selected concept look is not proof of matching production animation.
Diplodocus
Low sweeping long-neck
Art status: Existing bankGood broad fit
Keep; provide open fern-rich ground, scattered conifers and river access.
Habitat evidence
A giant Morrison Formation sauropod. National Park Service reconstructions place Diplodocus in river-country with open fern vegetation and conifers.
Limit: The Morrison varied across a large area and through time; it was not one uniform lush forest.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
Long horizontal neck and tail contrast with Dread’s height.
Existing runtime species; this selected concept look is not proof of matching production animation.
Deinocheirus
Giant shaggy duck-bill
Art status: Concept onlyLaunch home confirmedConditional or uncertain
Keep with wet floodplain ground, fish-bearing shallows and terrestrial vegetation; Swamp remains another sound option.
Habitat evidence
The Nemegt Formation's giant ornithomimosaur; fish remains and anatomy support an omnivore associated with moist environments. Size fits, but wet habitat matters.
Limit: Fish in its stomach does not establish that it swam or lived exclusively in water.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Proposed Giants replacement: a huge shaggy body and broad beak give a different silhouette from the long-necks and predators.
Long arms and broad body need clearance; overlaps Sucho’s large upright role.
Amargasaurus
Spined long-neck
Art status: Concept onlyLaunch home confirmedConditional or uncertain
Ecologically keepable; decide whether Giants includes medium-large animals or only spectacular giants.
Habitat evidence
A roughly 9–10-metre sauropod from La Amarga river-country. Floodplain ecology suits the island, although it was relatively small among sauropods.
Limit: The concern is the strength of the Giants size theme, not an established ecological mismatch or evidence of snow adaptation.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Proposed Giants replacement: paired neck spines distinguish this smaller long-neck from Dreadnoughtus and Diplodocus.
Adds another sauropod alongside Giants and Nigersaurus; spine continuity needs work.
ISLAND 03 / THE LOCKED CAST
Swamp8 / 8your picks / target
Wetlands, shallow water and connected vegetated banks.
Habitat: Warm freshwater wetlands with broad dry banks. Aquatic residents need meaningful water access; this is not ground-only habitat.
Suchomimus
Long-snouted biped
Art status: Existing bank · new lookGood broad fit
Keep beside shallow water and dry banks.
Habitat evidence
Elrhaz river-floodplain resident; fish feeding and a riverbank/wading interpretation support a freshwater wetland with firm banks.
Limit: Wading is an interpretation; a deep-diving specialist is unsupported.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank · new look
Keeps the current resident and a tall predator silhouette.
Runtime species exists; selected brighter moss-green concept still needs matching production work.
Carbonemys
Round shell
Art status: Concept onlyGood broad fit
Keep with accessible freshwater; flag aquatic behavior work.
Habitat evidence
A giant freshwater side-necked turtle from tropical Cerrejon; its water association is substantially stronger than a generic swamp aesthetic.
Limit: A terrestrial-only tortoise portrayal would conflict with its freshwater identity.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
A calm low turtle is a distinct collectible beside the dinosaurs.
Rigid shell and foot planting need a proof; scope it to the connected banks.
Edaphosaurus
Sail-backed quadruped
Art status: Concept onlyConditional or uncertain
Keep only on substantial dry, vegetated banks; avoid calling it aquatic.
Habitat evidence
Edaphosaurids occur in Early Permian lowland deposits; Edaphosaurus was a plant-processing herbivore. This supports vegetated lowlands, not permanent immersion.
Limit: Depositional setting does not establish swamp specialization or swimming. It is a synapsid, not a dinosaur.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Tall sail plus low body gives Swamp a different shape from Sucho.
Use ordinary grounded routes; sail and limb continuity still need animation work.
Nigersaurus
Broad-muzzled long-neck
Art status: Concept onlyGood broad fit
Keep on broad fern-covered banks and floodplain clearings.
Habitat evidence
Known from a lush river floodplain with conifer forests and vegetation, alongside Suchomimus and Sarcosuchus.
Limit: A terrestrial browser in this landscape; river deposits do not make it a swimmer.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
The broad muzzle and low long neck add a gentle herbivore.
Grounded bank routes; neck and muzzle identity need to survive the motion pass.
Diplocaulus
Boomerang head
Art status: Concept onlyGood broad fit
Keep only with freshwater access and an aquatic presentation plan.
Habitat evidence
Aquatic amphibian remains dominate drought-concentrated watercourse deposits; weak limbs support a strongly water-associated lifestyle.
Limit: Habitat fits, but dry-land-only roaming would be a substantial behavioral fiction.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
A wide boomerang head adds a strange, immediately recognisable shape.
Low splayed contact and wetland access need a separate proof.
Dilophosaurus
Twin-crest wetland hunter
Art status: Existing bank · look checkLaunch home confirmedConditional or uncertain
Use dry river margins; Forest or Fernlands is equally defensible.
Habitat evidence
A terrestrial Kayenta predator; the modern redescription allows feeding in local river systems, while emphasizing large terrestrial prey.
Limit: River association does not establish swamp specialization or an amphibious lifestyle.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank · look check
Proposed Swamp replacement: twin lengthwise crests bring a clear head shape, distinct from Suchomimus and Snow’s Cryolophosaurus.
Committed ranch and reveal banks exist. Match them against the selected portrait and qualify motion, variants and phones before acceptance.
Sarcosuchus
Long low crocodilian
Art status: Concept onlyGood broad fit
Keep with river pools and haul-out banks.
Habitat evidence
Sarcosuchus imperator inhabited African rivers across lush floodplains; a freshwater wetland is a direct ecological match.
Limit: Needs substantial water; a dry decorative swamp would not represent its river-predator identity.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Adds a recognisable crocodilian body.
Long torso/tail turns and bank/water staging expand production scope.
Titanoboa
Coiled serpent
Art status: Concept onlyGood broad fit
Keep in warm freshwater wetlands with water and banks.
Habitat evidence
Cerrejon fossils come from wet tropical rainforest river systems; the original study inferred an anaconda-like ecology.
Limit: Aquatic habits are inferred, not directly observed; warm wetland fit is clearer than exact behavior.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
The most unusual body plan in the Swamp set.
Continuous coils, crossings and believable whole-body motion carry the highest new risk.
ISLAND 04 / THE LOCKED CAST
Snow8 / 8your picks / target
Arctic residents, cool woodland and woolly open-ground grazers.
Habitat: Two placements need reconsideration; five remain conditional or uncertain. All residents need accessible vegetation, not a barren glacier.
Yutyrannus
Feathered theropod
Art status: Existing bank · new lookConditional or uncertain
Keep in Snow's wooded, seasonal winter habitat with clear ground and shelter.
Habitat evidence
The original description documents extensive filamentous feathers. Regional isotope research estimates a cool-temperate Yixian climate, giving a stronger rationale for cold seasonal woodland than for tropical or bare-ice conditions.
Limit: Direct feather evidence and regional cool-climate evidence do not establish deep-snow tolerance, polar residency or permanent ice adaptation.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank · new look
Keeps the current resident and Snow’s big friendly theropod.
Runtime species exists; this selected periwinkle Snow redesign is still a concept look.
Pachyrhinosaurus
Arctic Pachyrhinosaurus
Art status: Concept onlyGood broad fit
Keep; use P. perotorum as the art and fact reference and provide woody browse and seasonally snowy ground.
Habitat evidence
P. perotorum is explicitly known from northern Alaska. Regional nesting evidence supports year-round dinosaur residency through freezing winters and seasonal snow.
Limit: Other Pachyrhinosaurus species occurred farther south. The Arctic fossil environment was vegetated and warmer than today's polar icefields. A shaggy coat is not directly demonstrated for this animal.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Use Pachyrhinosaurus perotorum, the northern Alaskan species, for Snow’s broad-bossed herbivore.
Existing concept is unchanged and needs a P. perotorum reference check before production acceptance. Preserve its nasal boss; a shaggy coat is not directly established.
Woolly Mammoth
Woolly headline prize
Art status: Concept onlyGood broad fit
Keep in open, windswept forage patches with shallow or broken snow.
Habitat evidence
Cold adaptation and mammoth-steppe association make this one of Snow's clearest anchors.
Limit: Cold adaptation does not remove the need for abundant accessible plants; continuous deep snow or barren ice is an unsuitable visual shorthand.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Wool, short tusks and a curled trunk make Snow feel special.
Strong cold-climate fit; a production stretch. Prove trunk and tusk continuity early; accessible forage remains necessary.
Sinosauropteryx
Tiny striped-tail scout
Art status: Concept onlyConditional or uncertain
Keep provisionally in sheltered, cool clearings with seasonal, patchy snow.
Habitat evidence
Regional isotope evidence supports cool conditions. Countershading analysis independently supports open surroundings, which suits Snow's clearings better than a dense-forest-only island.
Limit: Neither result proves regular deep-snow use or specialized polar physiology. Its winter placement remains a design inference.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Adds a small, bright collector and more scale variety.
Long tail and feather cues need phone-size readability checks.
Nanuqsaurus
Arctic tyrannosaur
New concept · reviewArt status: New concept draftLaunch home confirmedGood broad fit
Add as Snow's Arctic tyrannosaur, with winter woodland and open ground. Label any insulating plumage as an artistic reconstruction.
Habitat evidence
The original description documents an Arctic tyrannosaur. Later regional nesting research supports dinosaurs remaining through freezing, snowy winters.
Limit: Original material is fragmentary; feathers are an inference, not directly preserved evidence. Its adult size is under reassessment, so do not sell it as an established tiny or dwarf tyrannosaur. The ancient Arctic was vegetated, not a modern ice sheet.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
New concept draft
A sturdy tyrannosaur head, short forelimbs and long balancing tail create an Arctic predator alongside Yutyrannus.
New concept is unapproved. Feathering is an artistic inference; no direct Nanuqsaurus plumage fossil is known. Its adult size remains under reassessment. No production bank or qualification is claimed.
Edmontosaurus
Arctic duck-billed herbivore
New concept · reviewArt status: New concept draftLaunch home confirmedGood broad fit
Add a Prince Creek Edmontosaurus, with accessible low vegetation and river-edge habitat. Keep its fact label at genus level.
Habitat evidence
A 2020 cranial reassessment assigns the Arctic hadrosaur material to Edmontosaurus. The locality provides direct high-latitude provenance rather than a visual guess about cold tolerance.
Limit: The cited study explicitly leaves species unresolved as Edmontosaurus sp.; do not label this population E. regalis or present Ugrunaaluk as an uncontroversial separate species. Arctic did not mean barren ice.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
New concept draft
A broad duck bill and deep herbivore body make a readable polar grazer without adding another horned or plated silhouette.
New concept is unapproved and refers to Prince Creek Edmontosaurus sp.; species identity is unresolved. No production bank or qualification is claimed.
Leaellynasaura
Small polar-forest herbivore
New concept · reviewArt status: New concept draftLaunch home confirmedConditional or uncertain
Add as Snow's small polar-forest herbivore, using a wooded stream-edge area with seasonal snow and accessible ferns.
Habitat evidence
Australian Museum and Museums Victoria describe a cool polar forest with pronounced light seasonality. Regional evidence allows winter ice and seasonally frozen ground, while other fauna suggests generally milder conditions.
Limit: Polar provenance does not demonstrate a permanent snowfield. Material is limited and some referred bones are uncertain; its exact appearance and behaviour should not be overstated.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
New concept draft
A small biped with a long balancing tail and gentle herbivore head adds scale contrast to Snow’s large residents.
New concept is unapproved. Its polar-forest context is better established than its complete anatomy or behaviour; some referred remains are uncertain. No production bank or qualification is claimed.
Woolly Rhinoceros
Woolly twin-horned grazer
New concept · reviewArt status: New concept draftLaunch home confirmedGood broad fit
Add alongside the mammoth in an open, windswept grass-and-sedge clearing with patchy snow.
Habitat evidence
Genomic research identifies a cold-adapted megaherbivore and candidate adaptations to low temperatures. Museum evidence links its teeth and coat to tough steppe forage and cold conditions.
Limit: This is a mammal, not a dinosaur, as is the existing mammoth. It needs open forage rather than only woodland, deep snow or ice.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
New concept draft
A low, sturdy body with a two-horn profile and shaggy coat gives Snow an open-ground counterpart to the mammoth.
New concept is unapproved. This is a cold-adapted mammal, like the existing mammoth; it needs exposed forage. No production bank or qualification is claimed.
ISLAND 05 / THE LOCKED CAST
Fernlands8 / 8your picks / target
Fern meadows, tall browse and Iguanodon’s greener home.
Habitat: Fern clearings with wooded edges and freshwater. Brachio needs tall browse; Microraptor needs connected trees and perches.
Rex
Round-headed classic
Art status: Existing bankGood broad fit
Keep; include open ground, wooded edges and freshwater.
Habitat evidence
Fossil-distribution research supports use of both river-associated and floodplain environments, compatible with a watered clearing-and-woodland mosaic.
Limit: Compatibility is an inference; it does not establish a fern-meadow specialization or historical coexistence with every island resident.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
A beloved classic and Fernlands’ obvious predator.
Preserve the original approved Rex identity and existing motion work.
Trike
Three-horned classic
Art status: Existing bankGood broad fit
Keep on firm, vegetated clearings with woodland nearby.
Habitat evidence
Ceratopsian remains preferentially occur in floodplain deposits; the study interprets Triceratops and relatives as using areas farther from river channels.
Limit: This is a fossil-distribution habitat inference, not proof of an exclusive preference for ferns or treeless meadow.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
Frill and three horns make a familiar friendly anchor.
Preserve the original blue Trike. Current runtime is a separate production asset.
Ankylosaurus
Armored club-tail
Art status: Existing bankConditional or uncertain
Keep provisionally with firm ground and varied low vegetation; label habitat preference uncertain.
Habitat evidence
Known from latest Cretaceous terrestrial assemblages; detailed review notes sparse fossils and unresolved preference between preserved coastal plains and less-preserved habitats.
Limit: Its occurrence in a formation does not establish floodplain or fern-meadow specialization; an upland preference remains a hypothesis.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
Keeps Anky in the game and fills a low armored role.
Latest working Fernlands assignment replaces Heterodontosaurus; use original green identity.
Stegosaurus
Broad plated classic
Art status: Concept onlyGood broad fit
Keep; fern-rich clearings with occasional conifers are a particularly good match.
Habitat evidence
Museum research supports feeding on ferns and cycads; its Morrison environments included fern groundcover, conifers and strongly seasonal river landscapes.
Limit: The widespread Morrison Formation contained varied environments; avoid depicting every resident as a permanent humid-jungle animal.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
The big coral plates complete a recognisable classics island.
New animation package required; compare broad plates with Forest Kentrosaurus and Stegouros.
Iguanodon
Sturdy thumb-spike herbivore
Art status: Concept onlyLaunch home confirmedGood broad fit
Keep in Fernlands with ferns, tall tree groves, freshwater margins and firm ground.
Habitat evidence
Iguanodon bernissartensis habitat research documents varied western European plant communities, including fern- and conifer-rich lake margins and seasonal wetland settings. Fernlands’ stated mosaic supplies a supported greener setting.
Limit: This supports fit to a varied vegetated landscape, not an exclusive fern-meadow preference. The animal’s documented habitat flexibility does not establish its full climatic tolerance.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Keeps your Iguanodon in fern-rich, wooded meadows with freshwater, replacing Concavenator’s draft slot.
Existing accepted concept is unchanged. Fernlands suits the documented plant-rich settings better than a Snow-first placement; habitat flexibility and production readiness remain separate questions.
Brachio
Friendly tall-neck
Art status: Existing bankLaunch home confirmedConditional or uncertain
Keep the requested move; provide substantial tall trees around the fern clearings.
Habitat evidence
Natural History Museum identifies Brachiosaurus as a high browser thought to feed on tall conifers and tree ferns.
Limit: Fern groundcover alone is insufficient; tall-tree browsing is an inference from anatomy, not a preserved complete menu.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Existing bank
Your requested Fernlands long-neck. Proposed to take Iguanodon’s place, keeping the classic Stegosaurus.
Selected softer-smile concept. Existing Brachio bank remains a separate production asset.
Microraptor
Four-winged ground scout
Art status: Concept onlyConditional or uncertain
Keep only with connected woodland patches and perches; Forest is an alternative if Fernlands stays mostly treeless.
Habitat evidence
Microraptor comes from Jehol forest environments; aerodynamic models support gliding capability, making woodland structure a sound design choice.
Limit: A treeless fern field would omit the woodland structure supported by its fossils and functional studies.
Evidence confidence: high. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Four feather panels make a striking small collectible.
Grounded scope only. Hindwing and fan-tail clearance need work; no flight mechanic selected.
Anzu
Crested feathered sentinel
Art status: Concept onlyGood broad fit
Keep; include shallow freshwater margins and vegetated floodplain clearings.
Habitat evidence
Its original description proposes well-watered floodplain preference from body-fossil and possible trace-fossil depositional settings, supporting watered Fernlands clearings.
Limit: The authors explicitly frame this as a hypothesis; exact diet and habitat specialization remain uncertain.
Evidence confidence: medium. This is not certainty of survival.
Art & casting notes
Concept only
Adds a tall crest and feather-fan silhouette.
Use selected ivory/chestnut r2, not pink/teal r1. Long arms and fan clearance remain open.
A first cast worth falling in love with.
Species and island homes are approved. New concepts remain marked for art review. Illustration sizes are not runtime scale. Open a card’s notes for art and implementation status.
